Boat Restorations Current Projects
Elk Spar & Boat Shop has recently purchased a new boat that we will be restoring and adding to our charter fleet: Big Daddy.
Big Daddy is a 32' steel motorsailor designed by Sparkman and Stephens, and is known as a Crusader class motorsailor. Built in 1962 in Holland, he had been gutted by a previous owner and the interior sandblasted and painted before ESBS purchased the boat last year. Since then, several sections of plating have been welded in, the outside of the hull has been blasted, primed, faired, and painted. The plywood deck has been repaired and we are looking forward to building the interior.
